If you’re anything like me, the beginning of the year brings a list of goals and accomplishments that I am looking to achieve. The list can be pretty lengthy – there are so many things I still long to do and/or accomplish! “I will” is how I begin each item on my list, except for one and it begins with
“I will not.”
By not doing this one thing, I found out:
- Feelings of inferiority or superiority have no place to play in true achievement.
- Risk is easier to take because it is based on the right reasons.
- How and why to identify the difference between criticism and feedback.
- The stories we tell ourselves are the stories we become – so be a fighter.
I am going to keep my “I will not” item on my list – because I want to be the person I am meant to be. (And I totally agree with Mark Twain, nothing can suck the joy out of passion or life more quickly than comparison).
What’s on or not on your list for a 2016 where you flourish and thrive? Please share your ideas and thoughts in the comments area – your lessons could be the key to somebody else’s journey.
Wishing you a year where you move the mark to flourish and thrive and one without comparison…
