Comparison

If you’re anything like me, the beginning of the year brings a list of goals and accomplishments that I am looking to achieve.  The list can be pretty lengthy – there are so many things I still long to do and/or accomplish!  “I will” is how I begin each item on my list, except for one and it begins with

“I will not.”

By not doing this one thing, I found out:

  1. Feelings of inferiority or superiority have no place to play in true achievement.
  2. Risk is easier to take because it is based on the right reasons.
  3. How and why to identify the difference between criticism and feedback.
  4. The stories we tell ourselves are the stories we become – so be a fighter.
Here is the other thing I learned – people with “jaw dropping” success, don’t do this either…

I am going to keep my “I will not” item on my list – because I want to be the person I am meant to be.  (And I totally agree with Mark Twain, nothing can suck the joy out of passion or life more quickly than comparison).

What’s on or not on your list for a 2016 where you flourish and thrive?  Please share your ideas and thoughts in the comments area – your lessons could be the key to somebody else’s journey.

Wishing you a year where you move the mark to flourish and thrive and one without comparison…
